Travel Information & Reccomendations

  • VISAS: British citizens will require a tourist visa to enter India. Applications for e-Visas can be submitted online here or paper visas here. We would recommend applying for an e-Visa.

    VACCINATIONS: British government advice for recommended vaccinations can be found here.

    PASSPORTS: To enter India, your passport must have an ‘expiry date’ at least 6 months after the date you arrive and have at least 2 blank pages.

  • FLIGHTS: We recommend arriving via Indira Gandhi International Airport (Delhi). Direct flights from London are available with British Airways and Virgin Atlantic, while Emirates, Etihad and Qatar Airways offer convenient one-stop connections.

    TRANSFER TO JAIPUR: We recommend taking a domestic flight from Delhi to Jaipur, which takes approximately 50–60 minutes. Alternatively, Jaipur can be reached by car (approximately 4–5 hours) or train (approximately 4 hours).

  • WEDDING VENUE: For the wedding celebrations, all guests will be staying at the venue, Taj Devi Ratn Resort & Spa. Rooms have been reserved at the venue and our planning team will be reaching out to arrange your accommodation during the wedding. Guests wishing to arrive before the wedding celebrations or extend their stay afterwards are welcome to make their own accommodation arrangements before joining us in Jaipur.

    TRANSFER TO THE VENUE: Our planning team will be reaching out to arrange your transfer from your arrival in Jaipur to the wedding venue.

  • WEATHER: The weather in Jaipur will be warm, with early April temperatures expected to be about 32-35°C in the day and 20-22°C in the evenings.

    CLOTHING: We recommend that you plan your wardrobe with the weather in mind. We have detailed wardrobe advice for the wedding here.

    RAIN: The likelihood of rain in Jaipur in early April is very low, however if you are planning to visit other parts of India during your trip, please check weather requirements for those regions.

  • CURRENCY: The local currency is the Indian Rupee (INR). Currency can be exchanged at airports, hotels and exchange bureaux, and cash can also be withdrawn from local ATMs.

    PAYMENTS: Credit and debit cards are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants and larger shops. We recommend carrying a small amount of cash for markets, smaller vendors and tips.

  • WATER: You should only drink bottled or properly filtered water in India.

    INSURANCE: We recommend that you arrange travel insurance to cover any unexpected medical costs while you are visiting.
